~The Three Crosses ~ Luke 23: 32-43 God has shown his love through the cross of Christ our Savior. He took an object of shame and disgrace and made it a symbol of hope and peace. As you enter our church we invite you to join with us in celebrating God's love and forgiveness and the peace that is ours through Christ our savior. When Jesus was crucified, two criminals were crucified with him, one on either side. The center cross on which Christ died is where he bore our sins, thus bringing us forgiveness and restoration with God. The second cross represents the man who looked to Jesus for salvation and forgiveness recognizing Christ's sinless life. Christ accepted his prayer and promised forgiveness and paradise. The third cross represents the other man who was crucified with Christ. He chose to be presumptuous and demand that Jesus free him from the cross so that he could continue his life of self-indulgence. The three crosses remind us first, that all of us need a savior, second that none of us should ever despair and third, that none of us can ever afford to be presumptuous to believe that God owes us anything. Christ is our life!
